Allison Nichols LaPlante - An amazing human being!
Donation protected
Last week, our community lost a beautiful soul much too soon. Allison is survived by her husband, Aaron, and her children, Caden and Ella.
Allison was a kind, loving, and gentle person who made a positive impact on everyone she knew. As a compassionate and dedicated teacher, she generously gave herself to the community and students she taught at Brandon School for 16 years. She also mentored teacher candidates from UCSB and began a teacher forum focused on mindfulness education. Allison was very active in the Hollister School PTA and supported both of her children's classrooms in numerous ways.
Even during her own battle with cancer, the social-emotional health of others was always a priority for Allison. The selfless, positive influence she made on all the lives she touched is beyond measure.
The funding from your contributions will go directly to the LaPlante Family to help with medical bills, savings for Caden and Ella’s future, and to help with the burdens they are facing in the wake of their loss. Please share this Go Fund Me as much as possible and let’s help support this beautiful family during this difficult time.
Words from Aaron on July 1, 2020: “To all friends and family of Allison. This is her husband Aaron. With a heavy heart I am sad to say that Allison made her transformation to a dragonfly yesterday morning. We were all with her and it was very peaceful. She had an amazing, gorgeous smile on her face. We drank bourbon, laughed, cried, told stories and hung out with her all day. Fly with the angels my beautiful wife!
She was a warrior and endured much through her 3 year battle with breast cancer. She never gave up and inspired us all to always have hope and be present. She was my best friend for the last 22 years and leaves behind the precious lights of her life, Caden(9) and Ella(6). She is forever all around us. She loved and cared so much about every one of you. Be, Breathe, Love.”
July 2, 2020: “Instead of a service, with a few family members this evening, we went and made a small memorial at More Mesa for people to visit. This was one of Allison's favorite places that she went to every week as it is just a short jog away from our house. She has taken many friends and family there over the years along with countless paragliding flights soaring above the cliffs and trees. Feel free to go and visit and share a nature moment with her. I will clean it up in a couple of weeks. I think she would love for you to grab the fam or a friend or go solo and enjoy the walk out in the open space and suck in some of that tasty ocean air.
If you go up the Mockingbird Lane entrance and walk the trail straight to the cliff above the ocean and hang a right at the tree line, it is the last tree on the right. She loved every minute of this life, everything heart shaped and all her friends/fam. We miss her so much. Enjoy your walk!” -Aaron
John Dent and Christie Paloczi are very close friends of the LaPlante family. They have both known Allison LaPlante (who passed away) for 12 years and have set up the GoFundMe to support Aaron LaPlante (Allison's husband) during this time of loss. Aaron LaPlante is the intended recipient of the campaign.
The funds will be spent by Aaron to pay for outstanding medical bills, final expenses, and to contribute to savings accounts for Allison and Aaron's children (Caden and Ella LaPlante). The funds will also help supplement income for the family now that Allison is deceased.
Aaron LaPlante will be added as the beneficiary of the campaign and all contributions will go directly to him.
