Allison’s lost Battle to AML

Donation protected
Cancer is a thief. It robs us of the life that we knew. It also affects your family’s life that they knew. It robs us of many things, our time, our energy and even of material possessions. It robs us of hope…or tries to, at least. It can be long and drawn out. Leading a series of attacks, or short and quick, panic and anxiety never knowing what to expect. Some people’s bodies arrest it, some just live with it for a long time and some, well…some are overcome by it. But all, ALL of them fight it.

One year and five months ago our daughter, Allison Nicole Cardenas, began her battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with a cancer that is less found in children, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was only a sixth grader when she got diagnosed. She required a bone marrow transplant that her body rejected. As we got ready for a second transplant a few weeks ago her doctors told us there wasn’t much left we can do. After so many doctor appointments and hospital stays she decided she wanted to go the comfort of our home to continue her battle. As a parent the day we dreaded most came upon us and our warrior spread her wings on March 31, 2021. She was born August 16, 2008 and brought so much joy to everyone’s life. She was funny, outgoing and was always smiling and laughing. She loved dancing and having music. Even in her  hardest days she tries to maintain a smile and have a positive outlook. She was strong and resilient warrior. We all trusted in God that she would get better but she was called to become our angel.

There’s something so incredibly wrong about watching someone die of cancer, and it hits harder when it’s your child. It touches every corner of your life. As her parents, We had cancer too. Her siblings did too. We were all fighting against this beast. Every day we got up ready to fight. There was no giving up for Allison. She sat through grueling hours of chemo being pumped through her body. It was so painful to watch but I never let her see me down.  She gave us love. She gave us each other so we wouldn’t have to do this alone. And she gave us her love for God, which brought us comfort knowing that this wasn’t the end. Although we dreaded the thought of her losing the race, we were never prepared for this loss.

She has left behind a her parents, brother and sister, grandparents, aunts and uncles. She was loved and a wonderful friend to anyone who knew her.

As times are tough can I please ask that if you find it in your heart please donate for our daughters funeral costs. Anything big or small will be appreciated. I also have a Zelle setup Alan Cardenas (657)       351.   9126.  that will go directly to us.

Thank you in advance.
