Allow precious family time for Maria & Matt

Hi! My name is Bec and I'm fundraising to help give a great friend and colleague of mine some precious time at home with her family.

Meet Maria and Matt... Married for 16 years, and the proud parents of 14-year-old Charlotte, they've faced every bump in their road with courage, determination, and steadfast love for each other.

In 2021 Matt, an aviation photographer, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and so began a long path of chemo, radiation, surgeries and setbacks. In May 2022, mere weeks after being declared cancer-free and in remission, Matt was told his previous cancer had metastasised before treatment into his blood and lymphatic system, and he had a long fight on his hands. Maria, a hard-working and passionate nurse, has lovingly and fiercely supported Matt and Charlotte throughout.

Fast forward through further operations, rounds of treatment, and ups & downs.

Now: Matt isn't doing so well, and there aren't many options left. He is now palliative and only for comfort care. Maria has used up almost all of her annual and personal leave and now faces the prospect of having no income while she spends some last, precious, time with her husband.

While we can't change what's happening to their family unit and it breaks our hearts, we CAN try to ease the financial burden for Maria and Matt.
