Allyson's kidney donation to fellow ER Nurse
Donation protected
My best friend and co-worker will be donating her kidney to one of our co-workers! Allyson, has been a ER nurse for just over a year. She started her journey as a EMT and worked as a ER tech in a community hospital. Once she became a nurse she started working at South coast in the ER with me. She has always wanted to help others and is a genuinely selfless person. Her and Kristin immediately became friends, and after hearing of Kristin's condition, Allyson was eager to help and offered to get tested to see if she was a match. Kristin went out of work early due to her kidney function and started dialysis. This motivated Allyson to expedite the process and has finally been cleared for surgery. Allyson will be out of work for up to twelve weeks. She has two young boys, Jake (9) and Colin (5). I'm looking to help raise money through this process to help cover living expenses etc. As nurses we are always willing to do the job for our patients and will go above and beyond to provide exceptional care. Allyson's self less act to donate a kidney to a friend, and co-worker is extraordinary. Night shift ER nurses form special bonds with their peers, and this is just an example of how strong those bonds are. A big thank you to Allyson and best of wishes to Allyson and Kristin, surgery is scheduled for May 13th. We all love you both and want you to come back to work after recovery!!
