ALMA LUZ VILLANUEVA DEFENSE FUND

After 20 years of teaching/mentoring in the Antioch LA MFA Program Alma Luz was wrongfully terminated in December. Alma embodies all that is good about Antioch, embodies the stated mission of social justice and the role of the writer in society. Alma has given her heart and her soul to the MFA Program. More than that, she has given many, many of us our voices. Her termination is an egregious wrong that must be made right. Let's use our voices and our pocketbooks to help Alma. All she wants is to get her job back. Unfortunately, the administration is not being transparent and does not have a process in place for her to protest this unfair decision. I'm creating this fund so Alma can find good legal representation to help her return to Antioch. Anything you can give will be most appreciated. The administration of Antioch has said they've made some recent decisions (including the termination of others) to better the future of the MFA Program. Terminating Alma is not good for the future of the program. The lights will be dimmer without her and the future of future students will be dimmer without her guidance. Thanks so much, Nancy Conyers
