I arrived at the University of Hawaii with the intent to thrive, came in from College of San Mateo as President of MANA and an honor student who was full of energy and excited.
I love all the wisdom that I have received and would like to stay, but face hurdles of financial hardship. To date outside of the financial aid I've already applied, my parents have shelled out $10,567.00, they took on paying out of pocket to cover expenses initially calculated to be covered by aid and scholarships...this is a huge undertaking for a working class family like mine in the Bay Area.
I am getting a handle on things and the outlook of securing more aid via scholarships is very promising, but just doesn't come through in a timely manner.
My parents, my family are always trying to help others and we really never ask for ourselves and if you know us, you know that that is true. Well, today, I am asking for help and it is humbling and not the usual practice for me to publicly share our needs as we generally try to shoulder the burden in house.
My parents have given all their sweat to get me here and I just need to get through this semester as the upcoming semester funding pipeline is looking more positive.
If you are able to make a heart donation of any amount by March 25th it would be greatly appreciated and if not your prayers are greatly needed too.
All donations will be directly allocated to cover University of Hawaii balance and their additional fees, along with the charge amount to withdraw from GoFundMe totaling $5,500.
I PROMISE YOU, YOUR DONATION IS NOT WASTED, your investment in me, Reno Anoa'i will be fruitful in and out of the classroom.
Your help means so much and it was a hard decision to put this ask out there, but I am now asking even outside of my family's request not to ask.
GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK YOU ALL for reading through and considering my humble ask for HELP during my time of need!
