Alonzo Meza

Our beloved brother, son, uncle and friend, Alonzo Meza, passed away January 10, 2024 due to cancer.

Alonzo lost the battle against cancer after 8 months of diagnosis. He had an appointment with the City of Hope Cancer Hospital with the hopes of a better treatment set up on January 10th, but God called him to come home to reunite with his father hours before the appointment.

Many know Alonzo to be full of life and a hard worker with a funny sense of humor. He would light the room everywhere he went and touched the hearts of everyone, especially his elementary kids. He always was involved with the community regardless of his health condition up to the last moment. We were truly blessed that the Lord let us borrow him for 33 years. He was always educating and protecting his family as our father’s last wish. As his goals and wishes didn’t all come true to have a home and a family of his own, he cherished and loved all four of his nieces with all his heart. We spent as many occasions as we could with the small family we are and made the most of it. His sense of humor could never be left out. ‘Yes, you are still the best uncle.’

Due to permit transportation approvals, funeral services have not been set and are still waiting for our beloved Alonzo to arrive to Texas from California.

I hope we can all come together in support and celebrate Alonzo’s life for his family. Any donations would help cover funeral expenses and any future financial problems his family may confront.

We are going to miss him dearly and all the joy he brought to our family. May God rest Alonzo’s soul and give his family peace and clarity.
