ALS Funds for Mr. Gee
Donation protected
Hi friends and family, my name is Beth Ann. My husband Chris Gee- also known as Mr. Gee amongst friends and animation family -was diagnosed with ALS in Oct. 2021. If you don't know ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that affects motor function, with a life expectancy of 1-5 years. (Look up Stephen Hawking). Some of you may know that Chris was an avid bike rider, Disney Tri-Team member, and camera operator for Disney Feature Animation for 30 years. Now since his diagnosis, Chris has lost most use of his hands and feet and some speech in the last year. We have received multiple medical machines and equipment, including his big power wheelchair, breathing equipment, speech machine and some medication. That's what is covered by our insurance and medicare. It has now been over a year and expenses have gotten very high. Medicare and insurance DO NOT cover home nurse care, some medication, some doctors visits, ambulance transportation, and personal transportation/mobility vans. It's become too costly out of pocket for us and Chris's remaining family. With your help, we can get another nurse to cover off days and lease a mobility van so we can go out and enjoy life, to the best of his ability. Chris loves to go out and eat all types of food and spend time outdoors. I would like Chris and our family to be able to enjoy the time we have left without the stress of worrying about finances.
Your donation would help with but not limited to:
-additional nurse coverage
-transportation
-emergency services (ambulance rides)
-skyrocketing utility bills for keeping his equipment running 24/7
We appreciate all the help with fundraising for the ALS walk, but now it is time to fundraise for us. Thank you so much for your support always. Blessings to all of you.
