ALS medical bills and regular bills

Hi, my name is Melissa Nordquist and I’m trying to help one of my best friends make ends meet. A couple months ago Chuck had a fall at work and a few weeks later we noticed some changes in him with speech, mobility and other things. His wife Tanya told him he needed to go to the Dr., so he did and they couldn’t figure out what was going on. They sent him to a neurologist in Dallas who really listened to what Tanya and Chuck had to say. He had them go in for extensive testing and they even admitted him into the hospital so they could do a lot more test. Well after a week in the hospital they told him they might as well let him go home until all the rest of the test came back. Today they went back to see the Dr., and they got the dreadful news that we have all been fearing and praying it would not be! They told them that Chuck is in the middle stages of ALS which there are only 3stages. ALS has no cure and is a terminal disease. They started him on meds to hopefully slow the progression down but his symptoms have already progressed just since April. We are hoping these meds kick in fast and slow it Down dramatically. They will be going back and forth to Dallas at least once a month and have been going quite a few times a month already. The Dr., told him he will need to file for disability ASAP but as everyone knows it takes quite sometime to get approved! With his diagnosis we hope it won’t but in the mean time Tanya will be having to take time off of work and spend $ they don’t have to get all his needs met. I know Chuck and Tanya don’t want to ask for $, so I am asking if you can spare anything to help ease their burden. Chuck would give anyone the shirt off his back and I know right now his pride is being attacked. He wants to do things he could do before and unfortunately all that is being taken away from him. He drove truck for Wilson Culverts and unfortunately that is no longer possible nor can he drive a car even. He will need $, prayers, and lots of support. It is a horrible disease that basically makes you a prisoner in your own body but leaves your mind as it is.
