Alspaugh’s Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
Jon was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Squamous Cell Carcinoma, which is a form is cancer developing in his throat. After discovering multiple tumors along his neck he was taken to the hospital for a biopsy and very rapidly the tumors increased in number and size. Causing Jon severe pain to his jaw and spine. Urgent treatment was required and very quickly he was thrown into this battle with cancer with no preparation. The source of where the cancer is deriving and how to treat it is still to be determined.
Jon has always been very healthy. Doctor’s have said the likelihood of him receiving this diagnosis was less than 5% and extremely unfortunate. Jon has a long battle ahead and every day new unanticipated challenges arise. The lives of him and his family are constantly shifting and adapting to his needs. The Doctors’ methods for treatment with chemo, radiation, and surgery are constantly changing and adapting to how his body reacts daily. Therefore, Jon and his family do not know what to expect for the length and measures to fight this battle. His wife, Speedy, and two daughters, Hunter and Coki, know he will be sick for a while, but they are all dedicated as a unit in his decision to do everything he needs in order to get better.
The Alspaugh family has collective reliable insurance originally for any responsibilities in regards to Coki’s Down Syndrome and Hunter’s required athletic coverage for her soccer career. However, copays and more than 9 expected extended treatments do not receive insurance coverage. Also, the stress that has come from this drastic shift in the family’s lives has triggered a severe thyroid problem for Coki. She required emergency hospitalization care, and now any of the family’s remaining time is seeing new doctors at a separate hospital. Coki has experienced days worth of intense tests, and yet doctors are still trying to figure out healthy unique treatment methods for her considering her special needs and young age. No family should have to worry about other medical issues arising and unexpected finances while focusing on one member’s fight against cancer.
Please consider donating to help alleviate any financial stress ahead for him and his family. All of the money raised will go directly to him. There is no donation too small, any form of help would be greatly appreciated during this time. Thank you so much for taking the time to read, we wish you and your family good health and peace for this upcoming Holiday season. Please share this and thank you again for supporting Jon’s fight against cancer.
