A.C. needs medical treatment
Donation protected
At 5 months A.C. unexpectedly went into cardiac arrest and experienced repeated seizures. He spent 17 days in the ICU fighting for a second chance. After considerable time on a ventilator and being heavily medicated for severe brain trauma, he was discharged with a feeding tube and the possibility of not walking or talking. His future development can be improved with therapy, but it is a long road. His parents will first attempt hyperbaric treatment (oxygen therapy) and feel that his young brain's growth can benefit from this treatment. They may then seek stem cell therapy. Medical professionals recommend aggressive therapy immediately to allow for maximum results. These treatments however are not covered by insurance and require specialized medical care. His parents will need to track his growth over time to understand how his development is progressing as it will be difficult to see immediate results. It will be a long, difficult road with many years of expensive, specialized care. My heart goes out them as they navigate this new terrain. Please consider donating whatever you can as I'm sure unexpected costs will surface along the way- every little bit helps!
