Alvaro's Medical Fees

Hi, my name is Isabel and I am fundraising for my dear friend Alvaro who has a terminal illness. When I was 15, I lived with Alvaro and his family for a year in Chile. He is an incredibly kind, supportive person who has always worked to help and include those around him. He has been in the hospital for a little over a month and was recently diagnosed with a lymphoma in his brain. The doctors say there is nothing else to be done, he is no longer responsive and likely has only a few days left. He is only 40 years old.

Alvaro is a pharmacist who has always loved his work and been a pillar to his family. His younger sister, Kathy, who is 25, is facing mounting medical debt that has already reached almost $50,000. On top of this, the family has to pay the costs of visiting Alvaro in Santiago, and is anticipating burial and funeral costs. Kathy is a single mom with two children and this kind of debt would devastate her family financially.
