Covid Relief Fundraiser for Chennai

Tamil Nadu's COVID-19 Cases have continued to drop over the past months and the money raised is in the process of being disbursed. I have decided to extend out this fundraiser till the end of August in hopes to raise a little more with the help of you all. A letter from the TNF 
will be put out thanking everyone for their donations. 



The state of Tamil Nadu, India has been facing a recent surge in Covid-19 cases and is in dire need of help. For the past year they have been devastated by record high cases & deaths, exceeding hospital bed capacity limits, health workers being overworked and hundreds of thousands out of jobs. The main priority now is to bring Tamil Nadu back to its feet and being able to safely reopen the state.

Tamil Nadu has reported 35,500 positive cases (Highest 1 Day Increase) and 400 deaths on May 21st, 2021 over a 24 hour period with a positive percentage rate between 20-30% throughout different districts. Tamil Nadu is expected to reach its peak positive percentage rate towards the end of May as it is 2 weeks behind other heavily affected states such as Maharashtra and national capitol Delhi.

I am a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago and have partnered with Tamil Nadu Foundation to help provide Covid related relief to the state by using funds to purchase;

• PPE (General Protective Equipment)
• Essential Medicines/Vitamins
• Meals

This money will be disbursed directly to the Tamil Nadu Foundation and will be used towards helping the city and state.

I have spent a lot of my childhood in Chennai and being able to give back to the city and state I love means the world to me. With the help of you all who are able to donate or share this page we can make a big difference in relieving some of the financial burden that restrict the people of Tamil Nadu from receiving the necessary protective equipment and medications.  

Our goal is to raise at least 5,000 dollars by the end of August, your generous support will go a long way as India faces unprecedented times
