Alysha Lynn Harris

Valerie and I are now the foster parents of Alysha, a 12 year old girl who Valerie and I had mentored for the past 4 years.  Alysha had been struggling in public school academically and was falling behind quickly. We wanted to give her a stronger chance of succeeding academically and in life as a Christian young woman.   Alysha was accepted into a private Christian School last year and did the best she had ever done academically.  The cost of tuition this year has risen to approximately $10,500.  This school has "traditional" students and a large number of kids which are handicapped or have learning disabilities.  Each kid is encouraged and guided towards reaching their personal best...it's called Lift Academy in Seminole Florida which is about a 30 minute trip from our home.When Alysha still lived with her grandmother she was awarded a low  income-based tax scholarship worth $6,815. Work has been sketchy for myself and Valerie and I have had trouble making ends meet lately. We are wanting to raise extra money to cover the entire cost of the school tuition ($10,500) plus the extra funds needed for school uniforms, extracurricular help/tutoring if needed and transportation.
