Alyssa Dawn Lokits Memorial Bench

We are raising money for a permanent memorial bench to be placed along the Mill Creek Greenway at the Old Hickory Trailhead in honor of Dr. Alyssa Dawn Lokits.

We are deeply grateful for Representative Caleb Hemmer's support and advocacy, which secured the approval for this memorial. Now, Alyssa's friends and family are coming together to raise the $6,000 needed for the purchase and installation of this lasting tribute.

Alyssa, a woman deeply committed to advocating for women and an enthusiastic lover of the outdoors, tragically lost her life in a senseless act of violence while exercising on the Mill Creek Greenway in October 2024. However, her life was far more than its ending. Alyssa was a truly remarkable individual – brilliant, fierce, strong, and generous – who lived and loved more in her 34 years than most could ever dream of in a lifetime. Her memory is a constant presence, and her profound loss will be felt indefinitely.
