Alyssa Hernandez Family Fundraiser

Hi my name is Alyssa, 3 years ago my family went through a life changing event. My mother was found unresponsive after having a stroke that left her paralyzed on the left side of her body. This event traumatized my entire family, from my younger brothers to my father to my grandparents. Our lives were never the same after this occurred.

My father was forced to leave work to become a full time caretaker since my mother cannot do anything on her own. My father was my mothers full time care taker for over 2 years because we were unable to afford another option. Due to this, my father was unable to return back to work which led to extreme financial difficulty.

After over two years of not being able to return back to work, my family and I were evicted from our home because we were unable to pay the monthly rent. The past few months were extremely rough on my family. Not only did my brothers and I lose our childhood home, my father and mother lost the home that they worked so hard to afford.

After being evicted, with lots of coercion my grandmother allowed my family to stay in her house, however, there is just not enough space, my mother and father are sleeping on the couch and my brothers are in an extremely cramped room.

As hard as it is to admit, my family and I need help. My father is trying to get back to work, but needs a caretaker and is unable to afford that at the time. We are asking for donations, no matter how small, anything helps.

My father needs help to get back on his feet. Once we are able to afford an apartment or any type of living accommodation and my father is able to work again, my mother will be able to receive the care she needs, including physical and speech therapy.
