Alyssa Catlin: Classical Guitar CD
Donation protected
I was drawn to the guitar so many years ago by the beautiful music I heard artists play. Now, this year marks the twentieth anniversary of my life as a classical guitarist. So I'd love the opportunity to share some of my own favorite music with the world!
When I was in college I gave up pursuing the path of becoming a concert guitarist who would focus on competitions, but I've continued to develop my skills as a musician and classical guitar teacher. I've played hundreds of performances, performed on television multiple times, performed on the radio several times including being featured on the NPR show "From the Top", and worked in recording studios for projects such as a feature in the Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine, but have never made a solo album as a classical guitarist. Until now!
My desire is to record some old favorite pieces that I've played for years and several pieces that I've loved for a long time but only recently learned. I truly want to simply share what I love so much about the classical guitar: the beautiful music. Each piece that I've chosen represents part of my long journey as a musician, and will hopefully give a glimpse of how gorgeous music on the classical guitar can really be.
Right now my set list for the CD is almost complete and I'm practicing my guitar with every spare minute. I'm working with one of my greatest friends and mentors, John McClellan, through the entire process of recording, mixing, and producing this album. All I need to proceed is the funds to make it happen! Please consider donating to help this dream come true. Any amount will be appreciated!
Any donor able to provide $20 or more will automatically receive one of the CDs when they are released!
Most gratefully,
Alyssa
