Help Me Bring Clean Water to Ghana
Donation protected
My name is Alyssa Bahel and I have recently been selected along with 4 other students from across the country to be a field representative for SahaGlobal, an organization that works to solve the water scarcity issue in Africa.
In May I'll be traveling to a village in Ghana, Africa to help a group of impoverished women start their own water business. I will be teaching them how to treat the contaminated water that they collect from local lakes and rivers with a solution that makes it safe to drink. The women will then be able to sell the clean water to local communities at an affordable price. Not only will I be able to help hundreds of people gain access to clean water, I will be empowering these women and providing them with the means to run their own business.
Through this opportunity I will be able to help reduce the 40% of people in Ghana who are currently drinking water heavily contaminated with fecal matter. This cause is extremely important to me. In order for this dream of mine to come true, I need to raise enough money to pay for the cost of my trip and for the startup of the business. My goal is to raise $3,500 by May 15th.
Your generous donations will go towards in-country equipment to build, monitor and maintain the drinking water system and will be providing the females of the village the initial infrastructure to run a profitable water purification business.
Please consider donating to help me go on this journey and improve the lives of people less fortunate. Any amount would help so much. Thank you!
