Amanda and John recover and start a family

Hi, we are helping to raise funds for Amanda and John Bustillos, here is a little bit about them. Amanda and John started dating in 2016 and started their love adventure. They got married in September of 2021, and have since been enjoying life and trying to reach their career goals. John works in the sport fishing industry and Amanda is a Psychotherapist and is working her way toward licensure. In March of this year, Amanda was diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioma, an aggressive type of cancer that was located in her brain. At Cottage Hospital, she underwent a biopsy to confirm the type of tumor and had imaging done to figure out the next steps. They then met with a neurologist at Cedar Sinai who decided the best course of action would be to have it removed. On March 20th she had 98% of the tumor removed and will undergo chemo and radiation as part of her treatment plan to limit the risk of regrowth. They are trying to raise funds for medical expenses, occupational therapy, and fertility preservation for the start of their family. The egg preservation will need to occur before the start of chemo and radiation for the best possible outcome. This situation has been truly life-changing and something they are working to overcome with the support of their family and friends. As Amanda would say, "How did this happen for me instead of why did this happen to me?" is the perfect mantra they've held onto for them to move forward and have hope for what's to come.
