Amanda (Cunningham) Middel

Hi everyone, Debra Zavala here. I am a long-time friend representing the family of Amanda, Uwe and Arthur Middel. I started this GoFundMe page to help defray the cost of the funeral and burial of Amanda, Uwe's wife and Arthur's mama, who passed away peacefully at home after a long, and hard-fought battle.

As Uwe wrote, "She was very tough and suffered unbelievable pain to stay alive to be with Arthur. If ever I saw a warrior, Amanda was it. She fought this disease like a lioness protecting her cub. Even when she was almost unable to get up or move, she would still sit up and spend time with Arthur, play with him, read him a book, play up high, down low, too slow, and give him lots of cuddles and kisses." When Uwe told Arthur his mama was going to die, he cried for quite some time in his papa's arms but then got up and painted her a picture. Uwe said, "he also wants to paint his mama's coffin, which is possible, and to be involved in every aspect of her burial, and I will let him." The funeral is currently set for May 9th.

As you can imagine, the medical costs to fight this battle took a toll on the family's finances. Even to send her off simply, as befitting her nature, is very expensive. Please help with however much you can.
