As many as you know my sister had breast reduction surgery on December 20th. Unfortunately there were setbacks and it did not go as we hoped. So on the 30th she had additional skin graft surgery. However, by January 4th she was experiencing alarming symptoms such as severe vomiting and diarrhea, fever and chills, shortness of breathe, extreme exhaustion, low blood pressure and signs of dehydration. By January 6th my parents decided to bring her to the ER at Cooper Hospital. She was diagnosed with having Septic Shock which is life threatening. Emergency surgery was performed to cut out infected tissues along with multiple drugs and a blood transfusion to aid in recovery. A second surgery was performed on January 8th. More surgery is planned and a lengthy recovery is expected.
Unfortunately all this comes with a high price tag. Health Insurance only will cover some of this. Amanda will be going on short term disability. Loss of income, additional child care costs, and lots of follow up medical care are a lot to handle. Any monetary help will make things easier and be one less thing to worry about.
