Amanda Fern

Unexpectedly, our friend and former colleague, passed away on Tuesday, March 21st. Amanda fought hard through a nearly three-week hospital stay. After showing signs of recovery, she developed a bleed in her brain that took her life much too soon. Amanda is leaving behind two precious children, 16 year old Ari and 12 year old Jax. Amanda worked for and developed friendships and lasting memories at New Beginnings in Waverly, MN for 4 1/2 years, assisting adults work towards addiction recovery. Amanda left New Beginnings in January, 2023, to pursue another passion of caring for disabled adults in their home and local retail.

The family of Amanda Fern will be responsible for the funeral arrangements and unexpected immediate care and needs of two teenage children. We are asking their communities to help provide support to meet the needs this horribly unfortunate circumstance has required of them. Your donations will go directly to Amanda's sister, Stephanie Fern, to use as needed for the care of Amanda's children and funeral expenses. Stephanie has been employed by New Beginnings and Meridian Behavioral Health for the past 7 1/2 years. They dually supported the field of recovery through their work.
