Please Help Amanda Get To Yale

Amanda has been accepted to Yale School of Drama's Properties Certificate Internship Program starting this coming Fall 2017 and running a full academic year! She was carefully selected from among applicants all over the world for this exclusive, annual position at Yale, which carries a tuition scholarship as well. However, this scholarship DOES NOT COVER living expenses, supplies, and the cost of moving her life across the country. Amanda has been working three jobs through the summer to save, but there's only so many hours in one summer. Because she will be unable to work additional jobs through the school year, she was relying on a loan for these expenses, which she was denied. Please help her experience the educational opportunity of a lifetime.

WHAT SHE WILL BE DOING: Amanda's work includes a half-load of classes at YSD to learn skills in costume construction, carving, molding, welding, etc. as well as working 30 hours per week in the shop at the Yale Repertory Theatre as an intern properties artisan. She’ll also be heavily involved in work at the Yale Rep in other capacities as part of her work-study. Upon completing the program and receiving her Properties Artisan Certificate, Amanda anticipates the possibility of returning to Nashville and working in film, theatre, and exhibits fabrication.
