Welcome!
Welcome to Amanda Harper’s Transplant Fundraising Page. My name is Meg Didier, and I'm reaching out to you as a fellow congenital heart disease (single ventricle disease) patient and friend of Amanda's. We've seen Amanda's unwavering strength and resilience in the face of her health challenges, and now, we're rallying together to support her through her transplant journey. With your help, we can alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with such a life-altering process. Amanda has been and will remain inpatient at Cleveland Clinic until she receives the gift of live saving organs. This has created a tremendous shift in their day to day lives - including Amanda needing to step away from her career, for the moment.
Amanda’s Community Impact:
Amanda isn’t just an individual with single ventricle disease; she’s a cornerstone of our community. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering compassion have touched the lives of everyone around her. Through her advocacy and support, she's created a network of hope and understanding for those navigating similar health journeys. Amanda is involved with various organizations including, the Fontan Outcomes Network and Sisters by Heart. Every fiber of her being is wired to empower others around here and be the voice for inclusion. Now, it's our turn to rally around her.
Amanda’s Story:
In her own words, here's Amanda’s story:
“My name is Amanda Harper, and I'm 42 years old. I've been living with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, Tricuspid Atresia, Atrial Septal Defect, Ventricular Septal Defect, LT-GA, and I’m a Single Ventricle. These conditions mean I was born with half a heart, riddled with holes and positioned incorrectly.
Additionally, I've been battling Fontan-associated liver disease, which has progressed to non-alcoholic cirrhosis due to my heart's inability to pump effectively to my other organs. Recently, I was listed for a heart and liver transplant. Currently, I'm confined to the hospital, awaiting my second chance at life. My enlarged and dilated heart is pressing on my left lung, and my Fontan circulation is failing, leading to severe heart failure.”
