Amanda Summers battle with Cancer.

Hey everyone!

My name is Heather Ritson. I started this gofundme for my older sister (Amanda Summers) to help with her medical bills.

Amanda has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma (linked to Lupus) earlier this year.

If you are unfamiliar with this type of cancer, it is in the lymphatic system. She has SLE lupus and there is a link to lymphomas. Amanda had been on prednisone for awhile now for her lupus. The doctor found her white blood count to be higher than normal in appointment . She was also feeling super fatigued and had swollen lymph nodes. With more testing, we were then given the news that it was not her Lupus causing her symptoms, but lymphoma.

It sounds scary, but we are remaining positive and ready to do whatever it takes to get her into remission.

My older sister has always been my second mom. She has always done anything and everything to make sure I succeeded and never felt alone. I want to extend the same to her.

The past couple years haven't been easy for her. She lost her husband a couple years ago to leukemia, is a single mom to my niece Darcy, and is also trying to maintain her health because of her Lupus diagnosis.

And now she is handling this nightmare of situation while working a 30 hour work week and taking care of my six years old neice .

Her treatment schedule includes one week of chemo followed by a week or so of low counts/sickness and then maybe one week of feeling decent.

She will be doing 8-10 rounds and has only 2 done. Essentially one round a month.

With no help near by she is having to pay for help with cleaning, laundry, groceries, lawn and other basic day to day activities.

It's a lot. It feels like the worst hallmark movie that could be made, but it is her reality everyday.

You probably remember a gofundme from a couple years back that we had for her husband, Blake Summers. For everyone who donated during that time, we all have appreciated it. We absolutely hate having to ask again and we wouldn't be asking if we could help it.
