Amanda's College Education

Thank you for considering donating to my college fund! I believe it is very important to get a college education. Brigham Young, the founder of Brigham Young University which I will be attending this fall, knew the importance of educating oneself. He said we are "duty bound to study, learn, and live by eternal principals that are calculated to endure." He emphasized going to school and focusing your mind on things that will make you a better, more capable member of society. This is my goal and I have chosen to accept my admission to BYU because I know the university will help me achieve this goal. As I take steps towards going to college I realize that there will be many expenses in gaining a college education. BYU has a fixed tuition of $5,790 per year and estimates that books will cost $872. The money you donate to me at this time will go toward my tuition and books this year and in years to come. I'm excited for the opportunity I have to go to this prestigious institution! The help I receive will allow me to focus on learning as much as I possibly can and I know that focus will be especially strong when I don't have to worry about the expense of my education. Your support will help me continue learning, progressing, and growing throughout my whole life. As Brigham Young said, "We might ask, when shall we cease to learn? I give you my opinion about it: never, never."
