Amanda's Recovery Fund

Amanda needs help covering her medical bills from being brutally attacked and sexually assaulted in public. We are heartbroken that someone would do this to Amanda, and we all want to see her healthy and happy again. Amanda is very loved, but she can't afford treatment on her own. So we are fundraising to support her healing journey!
Her tibia and fibia (the two bones of the lower leg) were badly broken and she needs help with paying for:
- surgery to reset and pin the bones together
- physical therapy to re-learn how to walk and prevent re-injury
- mental therapy to heal the trauma from sexual assault
She went into surgery earlier this week and it went well, but Amanda has a long road ahead of her. Physical therapy is especially important, because physical therapy is important to reduce pain and strengthen the muscles and tendons around the injury so her leg does not get hurt again.
We've set this goal for $55,000, with these estimates:
- $35,000 for surgery costs relating to reconstructing her leg
- $2000 for the surgeon's fee
- $2000 for the emergency room visit
- $3600 for 12 weeks of physical therapy
- $4000 for medical costs relating to sexual assault (forensics kits, medication, STD testing, etc)
- $6000 for 1 year of weekly mental health therapy costs
- $2400 for all the little fees and charges that hide in medical bills, or whatever necessities Amanda needs in the future: rent, food, medication, bills, etc.
None of these bills have come due yet, but they're coming and we know they're going to be steep. Every little bit helps! Please help us support Amanda and help her focus on healing and not money.
If you can't donate, then any well-wishes are appreciated, and sharing is always helpful!
