Amanda's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
I have set this page up on behalf of my friend
Amanda Muller Belena.  I first met Amanda when we were both working the open house at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, NY.  We graduated in 1993 but have remained close friends throughout the last 23 years.  Since graduation, Amanda has gone on to get married and have 2 beautiful girls and is currently calling Georgia home.
I recently had a conversation with Amanda that made me want to start this page for her. Please read her story and contribute what you can. Every little bit helps.
Amanda had her first surgery in September 2000 where they removed the first 5 feet of her colon. In November 2001 she almost died when all of her organs collapsed. Since then she has had multiple surgeries for severe obstructions.  In 2012 Amanda had a surgery in which the doctors removed an additioanl 5 feet of her colon.  Also in 2012 Amanda has major spinal surgery including a spinal fusion in which she now has cage made in her back put together by rods and screws.  In August 2015 Amanda lost her job.  She has been working part-time at chick-fil-a in order to extend her unemployment which ended on January 11, 2016.  With her poor health, Amanda was barely able to work the hours she was being given and will have to work more in order to make up for the loss of unemployment.  Amanda is currently waiting to get on disability and is unsure of her approval, timeline and outcome of the process. Also when you are applying for disability they will not allow you to work.  Since the unemployment has ended, Amanda will have to suspend her efforts in receiving disability benefits in order to work and make money to help provide for her family.  Amanda's husband works for the government and is a veteran of the Gulf War as part of the US NAVY.  Amanda's girls also require several doctor visits weekly and are both on several medications as well. With all these bills and Amanda unable to work her family is facing eviction due to non payment as well as having no utilities and no way to pay for medications or doctors. Her family is in desperate need of assitance right  now. Any little bit will help them. In addition to all these challenges, Amanda is also facing another surgery in March 2016.  Amanda will be undergoing an additional colectomy surgery to remove the remaining 6 feet of colon.  The recovery time for this surgery is brutal. She is looking at 7-10 days in the hospital followed by a 3 month recovery time.   In addition to the abdominal surgery, Amanda is facing another spinal surgery, has severe fibromyalgia and a pituitary tumor.
Amanda and her family needs help in supplementing her salary and paying for day to day expenses as well as medical bills.  Funds raised through GoFund me will be used for Rent, Health and Car insurance, all Utilities, medications, doctor and hospital expenses, CPAP monthly rental and food.
Again, any amount is appreciated and God Bless You.
