Amar's IBMF Houseless Feeding Program

I'm raising money for my team's Houseless Food Drive and Outreach Program, hosted via Imam Bukhari Masjid Foundation. Each week we prepare and distribute approximately 286 lunch bags (turkey sandwich, chips, fruit snacks and water) for the homeless and needy around the Pacoima, North Hills and Van Nuys communities. We currently spend approx. $300 per week and therefore need to raise about $1,200 to fund our program each month.
When possible, we have also helped homeless people get medical assistance and housing help from local shelters, and distributed hygiene products, clothes, blankets, and even tents to those without shelter. We want to be able to build and distribute hygiene kits as well and are working to partner with local supermarkets to establish additional food sources, eventually leading to creating a food pantry. Our aim is to provide hope and assistance to any and all in need, regardless of age, race, religion, gender, etc. The more we increase our efforts, the more we see the need growing as homelessness and poverty continues to reach new heights in our communities.
