Amara attending Bible College

Hello, my name is Amara. I have grown up in church my entire life. There is no particular moment I am able to pinpoint and say that I converted, but I have always believed in Christ and been part of the church. I love the church and am ready to dive deep and continue to grow! Over the past few years throughout high school, I've really focused on making my faith my own-- It's one thing to attend church but another thing to walk with Christ and grow in your faith. I've made it a point to serve at church, start a Bible study with my friends, and make Christ a priority. While making God a priority, I've noticed I'm able to share the gospel with people and answer their questions without being scared to overstep or overshare, and I really like that I am now able to do that especially at school. I've been able to talk to many kids around me and invite them to church.

I currently help in kids' ministry. I love watching kids understand the concept of God's love, how they truly and purely believe in God. Several of them seem to have a deeper connection with God than many of the adults around them. Seeing their faces light up when memorizing a verse is an amazing experience for me to be a part of. I have seen how God works through children while serving. I've also had the privilege of one of my kids in elementary wanting to get baptized, and he fully felt the need to make it known to the entire church that he is serious about God and will live his life for God always. That is what God is doing in my life, and I believe he is using me to help children learn more and for me to love on them the way God wants to love them. My relationship with God now is growing daily, and I am pursuing God and wanting to learn more.

My greatest hope is to learn more about the Bible. I've found myself more and more interested in learning the Bible in-depth. I've been reading my study Bible and want to spend time learning more and establishing a solid foundation for the rest of my life. I think it's really important to know why you believe what you believe, and I'm ready to put in the time to learn more and grow more. I want to take my faith seriously and prioritize study and community. This is why I'm wanting to raise money. I was accepted to attend one of the Torchbearers International Bible Colleges, and I need help paying for the second semester and plane tickets to get to school!
