IN CHICAGO LIVES MATTER:Amaria Jones Funeral Fund
All donations will be transferred directly to the House of Branch Funeral Home
Amaria Jones, 13, was tragically shot and killed in the South Austin community of Chicago on Father’s Day weekend while showing her mom a Tik Tok dance in their own living room. A stray bullet burst through their window, which displayed an “In Chicago Lives Matter!” banner that still proudly hangs today, and fatally struck her in the neck.
Please consider honoring the memory of Amaria Jones, an aspiring future lawyer, a light in the life of those around her, and yet another young victim of senseless, systemic violence in her community, by easing the financial burden of her family in this tragic time.
Lawanda Jones said the idea of burying her own daughter is often just too difficult to bear.
Let’s not allow her to walk this path alone.
Please consider a donation of $5, $25, or $50
Every amount helps!
All donations will be transferred directly to the House of Branch Funeral Home
I am not part of the Jones Family. The way in which Amaria was murdered affected me deeply. I lost my father at 11yrs old. His death was sudden and without warning. In a moment my mother became a single parent. My community came to support my family. When I heard about this story, I wanted Amaria’s family to know they are supported. Through the support of the Mayor Lightfoot’s office and the support of the Chicago Crime Victims Unit I was put into with House of Branch Funeral Home. The purpose of the gofundme is to reduce her mother’s financial burden and let her know the community supports her.
