So as some of you may OR may not know... Amaris unfortunately was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma, late last year (December ) which is head and neck cancer..specifically of the tongue in her case.
She had surgery on January 30, 2020 in which she had 2 tumors removed resulting in 65% of her tongue needing to be rebuilt with tissue from her forearm. She also received a tracheotomy so she could breathe.
Update to Feb, 8th, 2020 Unfortunately, complications had occurred and she had another major surgery removing her entire tongue due to how aggressive the cancer had become. The surgery went well and it is believed the doctor removed all cancer tissue. Soon she will be starting rehabilitation and radiation/chemotherapy treatments.
As we all know, treatment doesnt come cheap. Especially to suddenly receive this news and just have no choice but to deal with it and all the expenses that come with it. We are asking for any help we can get. A dollar will go a long way if we can all come together for Amaris and share this and spread the word.
If anyone knows Amaris, you all know how loud, fun, outgoing and happy she always is.. lets help Amaris get the best treatment and rehabilitation she deserves, so she can come home to her sweet daughter Layla and continue to be the best mom she can be.
