TARICAYA FUND to save the wildlife

Thank you everyone for your support. We have closed this campaign and your contribution has helped us very much. 
The money raised has been divided to:
- completely rebuild the animal kitchen which was urgent. 
- Food medicine and maintenance of the animals at the rescue center during these difficult times of COVID-19 and quarantine for Peru in which we are working very hard for our animals wellbeing.  Again thank you very much and wish you well.

We need your help! Peru's borders have closed and we are in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At Taricaya Eco reserve, our typical steady flow of volunteers on whom we rely to keep operations and projects up and running has stopped for the foreseeable future, our only sponsor stopped theircomplete financial support and the government will not give money for wildlife conservation.

Our monthly budget has decreased considerably after having installed the solar panels that we managed to obtain thanks to donations from the gofundme campaign. Our new goal will be to achieve 5,000 US dollars per month to cover the costs of the maintenance and care of our animals and the people who care for them.

Taricaya Ecoreserve is located at 28km by motorboat from Puerto Maldonado city. Only a few staff, interns and volunteers who have decided to stay in the reserve during the quarantine are working hard to keep things going - just despite global closures, our animals at the Rescue Center rely on us 24/7.

At this time, 70 wild animals are sheltered at the rescue center. They are all rescued animals who were victims of deforestation, hunting or species trafficking. Some of them are residents and most are in rehabilitation process for future release back into the wild.

¡Necesitamos tu ayuda! Las fronteras de Perú se han cerrado y estamos en cuarentena debido a la pandemia de COVID-19. En Taricaya Ecoreserve, nuestro flujo constante de voluntarios en quienes confiamos para mantener las operaciones y proyectos en funcionamiento se ha detenido en el futuro previsible, nuestro único patrocinador detuvo su apoyo financiero completo y el gobierno no dará dinero para la conservación de la vida silvestre.

Taricaya Ecoreserve se encuentra a 28 km en lancha a motor desde la ciudad de Puerto Maldonado. Solo unos pocos miembros del personal, prácticantes y voluntarios que han decidido permanecer en la reserva durante la cuarentena están trabajando arduamente para mantener las cosas en marcha, y a pesar de los cierres globales, nuestros animales en el Centro de Rescate dependen de nosotros las 24 horas, los 7 días de la semana.

En este momento, 70 animales silvestres están albergados en el centro de rescate. Todos son animales rescatados que fueron víctimas de la deforestación, la caza o el tráfico de especies. Algunos de ellos son residentes y la mayoría están en proceso de rehabilitación para su futura liberación en la naturaleza.
