Well, we never thought we would be back here again but, unfortunately here we are.... not knowing from day to day whether she will wake up or not... I guess I should start at the beginning... 25 years ago when Amber was 5 years old she was riding her bike outside in front of the house, nothing out of the ordinary and then after a few times up and down the sidewalk she came in to take a break and sat down on the couch laid back closed her eyes and the next time she woke up she was in the ICU. She had an AVM rupture. There were no doctors in Oklahoma that would do surgery on her because of the delicate nature and pretty much told us there was nothing they could do and the closest place we could go with a specialist in that field would be salt lake city Utah where she under went multiple surgeries and rehabilitation therapy, at only 5 years old mind you..... She not only lived but learned to walk and function again. Then shortly after when she was 7 her brain began to bleed and again we were faced with little to no hope of recovery but we pressed forward against the odds and she endured yet another surgery to put a shunt in to help drain and relieve pressure and again miraculously she recovered. She finally had a leg up in the race and was ready to live life! It was like her close brushes with death had made her live life wholeheartedly. She had the opportunity to travel with her high school sweetheart and love of her life and during this time they were surprised with the gift of a lifetime their own personal miracle, little girl Mia. For the past five years she has had the job that she has always wanted and that was to be a mother and boy was she ever a mother to that little girl. She showed Mia more things than most adults have even seen! Everything from the oceans, to the mountains, to "home" the Great Plains. Then October 30th Amber went to work at Johnsons Controls. Her normal schedule day to day life and around 4 pm she started experiencing a severe headache by 4:30 emergency personnel was dispatched to her place of work and by the time they arrived she was unresponsive and taken to St Francis medical center. Upon arrival they had to do emergency brain surgery due to yet another AVM rupture, stoke, and massive brain bleed. Since the surgery she is still unresponsive, is not breathing on her own and another brain bleed has been located with no hope of the surgeons being able to save her with another surgery or relief. We are still hanging onto hopes and prayers in the trying time and just ask that you will reach into your heart and continue prayers for her and her family and if you can financially assist, which would go towards funeral/cremation, medical, personal expenses, and any amount left over will be going to Mia and her father, we, her family would be more then grateful. If not a share would be more than enough. Thank you for your time and reading this and we hope that this gives you a better understanding of Amber and her story and what tragic events she has endured and overcome.
