Support Amber Marie A Domestic Violence Victim

My name Amber Marie and I am a domestic violence victim who has been abused physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and sexually by my husband. 

I pride myself on being a formidable advocate for women, teen girls and young children. I have spent the majority of my professional career advocating for the rights and well-being of marginalized and vulnerable members of our communities. 

However, I now find as one of those vulnerable members of our community and in a fragile state. I very much need my community partners, friends, family, colleagues, fellow clergy members and all others who stand against domestic violence, maltreatment, and all forms of abuse, to rally around my plea for assistance. 

My story started in 2016. I was like countless other women who suffered from abuse in silence all the while smiling on the outside and being there for everyone else. However what I really needing was someone to rescue and save me. 

On May 10, 2022, my life reached a cataclysmic point and despite fear, uncertainty and shame, I fled from my home seeking safety away from my abuser. After 6 years of enduring relentless unprovoked physical assaults as well as emotional, mental, spiritual and psychological attacks. I ran with a few essential items and no place to run to, but I never looked back! 

I never dreamed this would be my narrative, the person who I thought would protect me from harm was the one inflicting it! 

Every resource at my disposal has been exhausted and depleted due to his financial control and abuse. 

It is my hope and desire to raise enough money to pay for legal representation to assist with my divorce filing and to cover living expenses while displaced from my home. 

This is why I am pleading for anyone who knows me or whose been in this situation before, anyone who has been abused in anyway by a significant other, or anyone who cares for the needs of domestic violence victims to help me.
