Amber Murdock’s Emergency Medical Bill Fund
Donation protected
On the morning of Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, I woke up early feeling intense cramping sensations in my abdomen. Thinking it was gas pains (a feeling I’ve experienced especially often since my January 2022 Covid experience,) I went forward with my day and went to work thinking it would pass. Not only did it not pass, none of my regular solutions for the pain were helping. I was hoping to sleep it off overnight when it became increasingly apparent that this wasn’t going to happen. On a scale of 1-10, my pain was at a 7, (which is clearly not ideal, and impossible to sleep through…) so I decided to go to the ER at around 1am.
Since then, I have not only learned that I have asymptomatic Covid-19, but also that my gallbladder was distended and probably infected. Due to my Covid diagnosis, the surgery to remove it will have to wait several weeks, unfortunately. It has been 3 days now and I am still in the hospital. Feeling better over all, but still very sore and concerned about what this will mean for my financial stability as well as overall health…
My husband and I are currently attempting to buy a house, so the timing could truly not be worse for either diagnosis! We don’t yet know how much the bill will come to be (for either this stay or for the surgery itself), we don’t know how much insurance will cover, we don’t know when I can go back to work, plus several more unknowns that cause me this concern on top of the pain.
The number I’ve chosen is large and arbitrary, to be honest. A ‘shoot for the moon’ situation, of course. We don’t expect anyone to be able to help us to that degree, but its better to expect worse and be surprised! Of course the purpose of the donations is to pay for medical bills (which I will update on as I know more) and if there is any left after they will be used for keeping up with life expenses while we figure out what to do next.
Thank you so much for reading this whole thing! I know it’s a difficult time for everyone, so I understand if you just don’t have it to give right now, but if you could share this that would help as well! Love you all so much, will keep you posted!! -Amber
