Our dearest Amber has been fighting for her life for the past 7 months. She became very sick January
2022, and it has taken 6 doctors, a CT and 5 MRI's to find that a very rare cancer is growing in her left
sinus. Amber has been a stay at home mom with 3 children for most of the the last 17 years. Due to a
pending divorce she has no income, nor is she well enough to work.
Amber was diagnosed with a rare squamous cell cancer. Her tumor is in a junction of the left sinus that is
connected to the esophagus as the carotid artery. She has a frozen vocal cord, difficulty speaking and is
unable to swallow solid food without choking. She has been on a liquid diet for the last 5 months. She is
also in pain and has been taken to the Emergency room at the hospital several times. Surgery is not
possible in this very critical area. The doctors in Bellingham have sent her to be treated at the University
of Washington Medical Hospital. They will be using a fairly new technology in radiation, called proton
therapy. She will be undergoing radiation for 5 days a week for six and a half weeks, plus chemotherapy.
.
As she progresses in chemo and other cancer treatments, she and her children, will need our support.
Insurance is helpful, but everyone knows it doesn't cover everything. Amber will be traveling to Seattle
for her appointments and treatments, which involves hotels, child care, high priced gas and meals.
Thank you in advance for your support!
