Amber Wade

We all woke up this morning to the terrible news that a member of our ER family, Amber Wade, was killed in a motor vehicle accident last night. Amber was an Emergency Department Social Worker who was deeply dedicated to caring for the homeless and psychiatric population here in Seattle. She was passionate about protecting the abused, the less fortunate, people struggling with addiction, and those who had fallen on hard times.  Amber would quite literally give the shirt off her own back for anybody in need, and often brought in clothes to donate to the homeless as well as pay for patient medication prescriptions upon discharge - all out of her own pocket. She had her fair share of struggles and challenges as we all do, but she never let that stop her from going above and beyond to help others around her. She leaves behind two young boys who are surely missing their mama and in need of some support and care. Rest easy Amber, and thank you for never being afraid to care “too” deeply. Your presence here on Earth was profound and impactful to many and you will be missed.  **All money raised will go to Eddie Aquino, the father of Amber’s two sons. He is taking good care of the boys and is extremely grateful for any assistance given**
