Amber's Brain Cancer Treatments

Hi, my name is Summer, and my husband and I are creating this fundraiser for our friend and neighbor Amber Duncan.

On November 23rd, after experiencing headaches and dizzy spells since September, Amber had an MRI and quickly received the terrible news that she has a large glioma brain tumor and needs to have surgery scheduled immediately.

Amber's surgery is scheduled for January 5th at the Mayo Clinic. She will be in the very capable hands of brain surgeon Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa and his team to carefully remove as much of the tumor as possible. There are lots of risks associated with this surgery as her tumor is located in three separate quadrants of the brain which affect vision, speech, and memory.

Following the surgery, the tumor will be biopsied to see how aggressive the glioma is, and the pathologist will determine if chemotherapy or radiation treatments will be needed. They are optimistic about the biopsy results but know that further treatment may be likely.

The primary goal of this fundraiser is to ensure Amber and her husband Jimmy do not have to stress about any current, upcoming, or unknown medical expenses and can focus on their daughters, the surgery, and recovery.

Amber and Jimmy are very humble and have not directly asked for this fundraiser, but we wanted to provide an opportunity for family, friends, and anyone who is interested in helping with a means to do so. Any donations received will assist in covering medical expenses and are greatly appreciated. Please continue to share this and keep the Duncan family in your thoughts.
