Amber’s fight against Stage 3 Breast Cancer

What was supposed to be my daughter’s most enjoyable time has now also turned into the most devastating time. Her and her husband found out they were pregnant and their bundle of joy is due May 2023. Then what was meant to be a normal physical turned into Amber having to have a breast ultrasound. On 12/17/22, she went in for the ultrasound which then quickly turned into a mammogram and biopsy. On 12/28/22 my daughter got the call from the Doctor stating she has stage 3 grade 2 breast cancer.

Since that appointment she has had multiple of appointments for a surgery consult, an oncologist and the fetal medicine doctor.

With her being pregnant they can’t do all the necessary tests to see if the cancer has spread. So she will be starting chemo the week of January 23rd and will get chemo every other week up until 3-4 weeks before delivery. A concern that the doctors have is timing out the chemo with when she delivers because of her having her 1st born at 29 weeks. They need both her and the baby’s white blood count to be up to a healthy number otherwise they are in jeopardy of getting infections.

Once Amber is postpartum they will go in a do a mastectomy right away and then they will start her back up on chemo with radiation.

I am staring this fundraiser for her to help with medical bills for both her and after the baby is born as she may come early and will need to be in the NICU, also to help relieve any stress for time out of work due to chemo appointments and both surgeries.
