Ponca City AMBUCS Park Pavilion

In recent years AMBUCS completed one of the most utilized and enjoyed facilities in Ponca City, the AMBUC special needs recreational area at Lake Ponca. It continues to be utilized by families throughout the year, regardless of weather.

As we enjoyed watching the children swinging, climbing and running across the playground, we noticed the moms and dads sitting on the few benches available and families having picnics on concrete tables in the hot sun. We realized the need for an area where they could escape the heat and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

We have committed ourselves to providing that opportunity.  The AMBUC Pavilion will be directly adjacent to the playground and provide protection, rain or shine, for families enjoying the park.  It will be wheelchair accessible and therefore available to those with special needs.

Over the years, we have provided facilities such as AMBUC Pool, Park, Motocross Park, Shelter House, wheelchair ramps and AmTryke Therapeutic Tricycles.  We have been able to do so thanks to the tireless efforts of our members and the generosity of the citizens of Ponca City.  One of our most dedicated members was John Sutton.  If there was an opportunity to provide for less fortunate, John and wife Mary supported the effort.  They worked tirelessly not only for AMBUCS, but many other organizations as well. We would also like to thank the Sutton family for kicking off this fund raising effort with a $5000 donation.  In honor and recognition for their contributions to the people of Ponca City, we will dedicate this pavilion in their honor and recognize them with a special plaque.

Any support, large or small will be greatly appreciated.  Together we can provide yet another service to our Community while honoring the memory of two people who dedicated their lives to providing for others
