Hello!

I'm Wahlander, or rather that's my artist name. My friends know me as Johan Wåhlander. Part from being a songwriter and performer I am also a psychologist. Since 2022, I've been writing songs about events in Ukraine and the lives of ordinary people there. For example, I wrote about Kristina Spitsyna and Svitlana Siemieikina, and Svitlana's younger sister, Sasha, in a song titled "Pick Up the Guitar, Sasha.” Have a listen at your preferred streaming service.

I'm currently fundraising to purchase an ambulance. Hoping this will happen before the end of this year (2024). Each ambulance in service saves hundreds of lives by transporting people to safety from the front lines or bombed buildings. Unfortunately, Russia deliberately targets ambulances using double-tap methods and other tactics, making these vehicles critically needed.

I started this GoFundMe to complement Swish, which only works in Scandinavia, where I live (Stockholm). As of today, I've raised about 10% of the necessary funds, but the campaign is gaining momentum. I have used my webpage to report the revenue generated by my songs as well as the funds received in the form of donations. Please visit https://songwriting.se/wahlander/. I am receiving help with the purchase of the vehicle, as well as with formalities and practical matters, from the two Swedish aid organisations I am in contact with: OperationAid.org and https://www.blagulabilen.se/. I have also received items, such as portable generators, from private individuals.

The funds will be used for:

• Purchasing the vehicle, including registration fees and insurance

• Additional items such as essential medical equipment and supplies

• Fuel for transporting the vehicle to Ukraine, as well as any potential road tolls or customs fees.

I will personally cover my own living expenses, including food, accommodation, and my return trip to Sweden. Your donations will not be used for these costs. I do not consider my journey to Ukraine a paid holiday trip.

All expenses will be transparently listed on the aforementioned website.
