Amelia Dominguez Memorial Fund

Today, July 11, 2020, at 4:00 a.m. we received the call no family wants to hear, “your mother has gone into cardiac arrest and needs to be placed on life support.” It was at this point it became apparent COVID-19 had gotten the best of Amelia Dominguez, it was shortly after this news that we lost her. She had medical issues prior to catching the COVID-19 virus but nothing she had not already been overcoming as the fighter she has always been.

To say the family is in shock would be an understatement as she was just on the cusp of recovery and release from hospitalization to be with her family and finally get to see everyone she loved and missed.

Amelia will be truly missed by her family and friends and she will also be missed by anyone who got to meet her and get to know her because she was a beautiful soul who through her life, although with its many ups and downs, tried to make light of any bad situation and kept smiles on people’s faces. She loved taking care of her grandkids and even with diminished strength found no issues watching those children and giving them the unconditional love only a grandmother/great grandmother could give. When she wasn’t taking care of the little ones, she was playing machanitas (slot machines, lol) to win a little cash for those kids or just to get away for a bit and have a little Amelia time. She was an amazing woman, who endured life and all it threw at her, and she will forever reside in our hearts and watch over us.

With this jolt of surreal reality, the family now has the daunting and wearying task of keeping life in positive form especially for the grand/great grandkids that will deeply miss their MoMo after this sudden and tragic loss which none were prepared for or thought would happen. As you can already imagine, the family still in utter shock, is grieving right now and the last thing on their mind or that we should have them worrying about is finances. The memorial services will only be the beginning for Dominguez family.

While we not be able to ease the Dominguez family of their emotional and stressful burden that lay before them, we can bring ourselves together and assist in any way possible in alleviating some of the financial hardships they now face and help them ease into what will be the new reality they have to live on though.

With your help and donations, we can only hope and pray the Dominguez’s immediate family gets through this.

We truly thank you and appreciate your generous show of love and support.

Rest in Heaven Amelia.
