Amelia’s Quest for Quebec, Ice hockey England U13
Donation protected
Amelia is an amazing 11 year old girl from Lane End Buckinghamshire. Just 3 years ago she decided she wanted to learn how to ice skate. June 2021 Donning her brilliant white figure skates she took to the ice for her first learn to skate lesson at Everyone active Slough Ice Arena resembling Bambi!
she completed learn to skate levels 1-10 and even joined slough synchro team for a few weeks but ice hockey had slowly started to take over Amelia brain and she was well and truly hooked! She got her first ice hockey kit and skates in March 2022 and there has been so stopping her since!
Fastfoward to now and she is playing for the Slough Jets U12s, Ice Bees Girls U16s and absolutely loving it!
Amelia was recently put forward by her clubs to tryout for the England Girls under 13s who if successful will compete in the 65th Annual peewee tournament in Quebec Canada!! And the Power of 12 England U12 programme which if successful with be playing in Slovakia for a week!
After making it through each of the 3 trials came the news that she had been successful for the England girls U13s meaning she is considered to be in the top 18 girls of the 2012 and 2013 age groups! we were ecstatic!
Running along side these trials was the PO12 England programme and just this week we have been told she has been selected for this team also!!! Meaning out of the 100 people who were shortlisted and selected to trial she made the team of 32.
This is where we need your help! We don’t want Amelia to miss out on the amazing opportunity to train and play with some of europes best teams in Slovakia with the PO12! We also don’t want her to miss out on the once in a lifetime trip to Canada playing hockey against teams from around the world for 2 weeks in front of huge crowds!!
we have estimated for Amelia to attend both trips will cost us in the region of £4000! We would be beyond grateful for any donation big or small every penny helps us help Amelia to live her dream. And get one step closer to her end goal of playing for GB or even the WNIHL!
