A REVITALIZED HOBOKEN POST 107

The American Legion Hoboken Post 107 is proposing an ambitious and achievable $1 million capital campaign aimed at developing the two major facilities, co-located for homeless veterans’ housing and for a renewed Veterans Community Center. These funds, coupled with public resources, will realize our vision of fulfilling our promise — and our obligation — to those who served our country.

We are looking to raise $175,000 to cover the cost of one aparment for a homeless veteran through this GoFundMe page.

The Post can’t do our work for homeless veterans and others without a fully-functioning home of our own. Our current facility at 308 2nd Street in Hoboken suffered devastating damage in Hurricane Sandy, and the Post has struggled ever since to recover. While the federal and county governments provided some funds in the aftermath, the money didn’t cover the costs of the necessary repair work and reconstruction. With an improved, full-scale Veterans Community Center, Hoboken Post 107 will be able to enhance such efforts as:

• Providing supportive services to residents

• Delivering needed supplies to deployed troops  
    through “Adopt-a-Soldier”

• Giving enriching educational and leadership
    opportunities to young people

• Welcoming volunteers who reach out to veterans and
    military families

• Advocating and shaping policy for vets on the local and
   national levels

• Supporting initiatives that strengthen
    national security


Veterans Day might only be observed one day a year, but we can make every day one to recognize and honor these deserving men and women.
