We want to start by offering up our condolences to all of those who suffered a loss during this fire. Our thoughts are with you.
We would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to all of our residents who have reached out to us, sent us cards, and more food and drinks than we can possibly consume. It is truly uplifting the spirits of our members out working the front lines.
We take a great deal of pride in saying that although over 7,000 residences were immediately threatened, we lost ZERO structures in the city limits. Our members are working beyond exhaustion and truly giving their all.
While we are working the front lines, we would also like to be on the front lines of making sure all those who suffered a loss are taken care of. This includes some of our very own members who were out fighting this fire while they got the news that their families had lost their homes. With that, we have started a disaster relief fund through our very own Vacaville City Firefighters Charity Fund. The best way for you to take care of US, is to take care of THEM! Please consider donating to our disaster relief fund. 100% of the proceeds will go to these fire victims in helping them through this tough time. Although we are not the department who serves the unincorporated areas of Vacaville, we still consider it home. We are all in this together. Let’s help these folks get through this terrible disaster.
