Americo's Kidney Transplant

It's time to help Americo get his Kidney! This is Americo. He loves his brother and sister, hockey and smiling. He just turned two and has been listed on the National Kidney Donor list. Americo was born with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) which in simple terms means, his kidneys are covered inside and out with cysts, not functioning as they should be and eventually will stop working altogether. Americo's health has been declining with multiple trips to the ICU and transplant floor for complications due to his kidney disease. Every admission confirms what we already knew, Americo needs a new "bean" and he is the bravest two-year-old we have ever met! Americo has been fighting since the day he was born and it's time to step up and help him and his family as they prepare for the next chapter in his kidney transplant journey. Josh and Ashley, his devoted parents will need financial support as they care for Americo and his older siblings Bauer and Paisley. Josh is a Firefighter for the city of Springfield and a hockey coach to both of his older children. Ashley had to leave school and her job when Americo was born to manage his care and meet the demands of his medical needs. For the next year, Americo will be hospitalized (3 weeks during transplant) often and be in and out of Boston twice a week for clinic visits, labs and tests. Traveling from Springfield to Boston bi-weekly may become taxing on the family as they look for housing accommodations closer to the city during lengthy visits, care for the kids and handle the financial stress associated with Americo's transplant and recovery. Your donation will allow Americo's family to focus solely on their family and recovery without the fear of financial hardship.
