Amethyst Medical Support for Ukraine

Amethyst RadioUK has been working hard with its volunteer network to get aid directly and quickly into Ukraine.

 

Working with our Ukrainian colleagues within Amethyst, using their volunteer network and Amethyst’s medical suppliers, we can provide support directly and quickly.

In our continuous fundraising efforts, Amethyst Radiotherapy UK, is now asking you to donate to support the purchase of medical equipment for Radiotherapy Centres. Even before the war, Ukraine did not have enough Radiotherapy Centres. The service included only 25 Linacs in operation (for a population of 46 million!). At the moment, less than 75% of those centres are treating whilst the number of patients has tripled in some areas.

The centres are in acute need of immobilisation devices, including masks and blouses. We are working with Ruslan Zelinskyi, Ukrainian Medical Physics Association president, to provide the necessary medical equipment.
