You never think it will happen to you, until it does. You especially don’t expect to hear the words “you have a rare type of breast cancer” at 26. Ami found a lump in her breast Nov 10 2020, saw her doctor two days later and was sent for an emergency biopsy after a concerning ultrasound. On Nov 23rd she had her biopsy and just three days later was called by her doctor with the news that she has two separate masses in her breast and both are cancerous. Ami was diagnosed with Phyllodes breast cancer. 1% of breast tumours are this specific type and even less than that are cancerous. Since her biopsy last Monday the masses have almost doubled in size and it seems that an aggressive approach will be required.  She meets with her surgeon December 4th and will get her treatment plan and timeline then, but it is likely she will be having surgery before Christmas.  Her family and support are here in Cranbrook and she will be likely coming home to stay and heal in between treatments - which will inevitably lead to travel costs on top of living expenses. Any little bit will help ❤️ Please donate if you can and hopefully lessen the financial burden.
