Ami to visit Apex Neuro!

Donation protected
Hi my name is Scott. I live in Exeter with my wife, Ami, and our daughter who is 6 years old. Ami has MS and since we got together in 2014, the story of her condition has changed very much over time. Here's her story:

"6 years ago, after [my daughter] was born, MS reared it's ugly head and made me go blind in one eye, have a spasm on one side of my face, dropped foot on my right side, hand numbness, dropped foot on my left side and I'd been left with weakness in my left side and significant balance problems

Earlier this year (2024) I saw Apex Neuro on Instagram and thought "why the hell not" so I made contact. I'd tried lots of things to help myself but nothing seemed to do the trick.
I went for a consultation in June and knew instantly they were the type of people who were going to help. No bullsh*t, no empty promises, just tons of knowledge, willingness to help and general warmth and encouragement. After my consultation, my nerves had woken up and I knew these were the people that could help me.

I travelled to Macclesfield and stayed on my own for the week to complete an intensive MS course with Apex. This was huge for me, not only from an MS perspective, but being away from [my daughter] for the longest time since she was born was daunting to say the least. But I was determined

After the first day I could feel my feet again. Sounds small but it's so big for me. Then as the week went on, I learned to use the correct muscles to walk, had better sensation and proprioception and literally learned so much about the human body, as well as being made to feel like I was worth it, I was worth the work and I deserved to feel normal again. ❤️

And that's just what happened. Since being home I have not used my crutch once. I am walking much more comfortably and I just have so much more zest for life! It's been a tough few years, to say the least, but I may just have found that light at the end of the tunnel.

I cannot thank Apex enough for giving me my mobility, my freedom and my life back. I have so much oomph now to keep going and keep getting better and that is all down to the amazing people at Apex Neuro. You cannot put a price on being able to walk, in my eyes, and I'm just so lucky to have found you. "

INCREDIBLE.

In October 2024, Ami was able to visit Apex Neuro in Macclesfield and the results have spoken for themselves. She now walks unaided for a lot of the time. But, if she were to be able to visit again, I believe we would see phenomenal things, like walking completely comfortably and confidently even more so.

Ami tackles everything that has been thrown at her in such an amazing way. She is strong, resilient, brave and determined and I could not be prouder of her.

If I can raise enough money to help her visit again, it would be incredible for her and for our family.

So....

The challenge is - climbing the 3 peaks in 24 hours! Myself and a small team of me, Ami's dad, Ami's brother and my brother, will be tackling the infamous challenge together to raise enough money for Ami to visit again. There will be lots of climbing, little sleep and lots of training leading up to it, but we all believe it will be so worth it. We will be taking on the challenge in July this year.

For those who don't know, The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.

The Three Peaks Challenge is one of the most popular trekking challenges in the UK and involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, one after another – with an aim to complete the challenge within 24 hours, 48 hours or 3 Days.

We are doing this in 24 hours!

Please donate if you can!
